Privacy Policy for talkspark
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the talkspark iOS mobile application and the talkspark website. It explains how information is collected, used, and shared when you use talkspark, including the Answer Together feature.
talkspark is designed to collect only the information needed to provide the app, manage subscriptions, support Answer Together, keep the service secure, and respond to user requests.
Information We Collect
Information Stored on Your Device
Some talkspark features store information locally on your device, such as favorites, progress, daily notification settings, onboarding state, and app preferences. Deleting the app may remove locally stored app data from your device.
Answer Together Account Information
If you use Answer Together, you create or sign in to an account. For that account, talkspark may collect and process:
- email address
- display name, nickname, or profile metadata
- authentication status and account identifiers
- account confirmation, password reset, and related account email activity
- account deletion request records, including request status and timestamps
Answer Together account authentication and backend account data are provided through Supabase. Authentication and account emails may be sent through Resend. Account confirmation and password reset routes may use talkspark website pages hosted through Hostinger.
Pairing and Invite Information
Answer Together lets you pair with another user. To provide this feature, talkspark may collect and process:
- active pair relationship data
- pair membership, pair status, and unpair events
- invite records, invite status, invite expiry, and accepted invite information
- hashed invite codes or invite-related records
- timestamps related to pairing and invite activity
Shared Question Rounds, Answers, and Reactions
When you use Answer Together, talkspark may collect and process:
- shared question round records
- category, deck, question, and question text snapshot information
- private answer text submitted by users
- answer metadata, such as answer ID, user ID, timestamps, update status, and deletion status
- reveal state, such as whether both users have answered
- emoji reactions and reaction metadata
- Hub activity and shared-round status information
Private answers are used to provide the Answer Together experience. In normal use, a partner answer is shown only according to the app's reveal behavior.
Notification Information
If you choose to receive Answer Together notifications, talkspark may collect and process:
- Answer Together notification preferences
- Expo push tokens or device tokens
- device platform information
- active or invalidated token status
- push notification event logs, such as send status, ticket IDs, error metadata, actor and recipient IDs, and timestamps
Answer Together push notifications use the Expo push notification service. Notification content is intended to be limited and generic. Answer Together push notifications should not include private answer text, question text, names, emails, or reactions.
Subscription and Purchase Information
Premium subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store using Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple manages payment processing, Apple ID subscription status, subscription renewal, cancellation, refunds, and payment information.
talkspark uses RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements and verify Premium access. For this purpose, talkspark and RevenueCat may process:
- RevenueCat customer identifiers
- app user IDs linked to talkspark account IDs
- subscription and entitlement identifiers
- product identifiers
- subscription status, expiry, renewal, cancellation, billing issue, and environment information
- RevenueCat webhook event records used to keep subscription access in sync
talkspark does not collect or store payment card details.
Support Communications
If you contact talkspark for support, feedback, privacy requests, or account help, talkspark may receive your email address and the contents of your message. This information is used to respond to your request and provide assistance.
Information We Do Not Collect or Use for Tracking
talkspark does not sell user data.
talkspark does not use Answer Together account data, answers, pairing data, push notification data, or subscription data for third-party advertising tracking.
talkspark does not knowingly collect advertising identifiers, precise location, contacts, photos, camera data, microphone data, or cross-app and cross-website activity for advertising purposes.
How We Use Information
talkspark uses information for these purposes:
- provide app functionality
- create, authenticate, and manage Answer Together accounts
- support pairing, invites, shared question rounds, private answers, reveal behavior, emoji reactions, and Hub activity
- validate direct Premium access and paired access to Premium features
- send Answer Together notifications when enabled
- send account confirmation, password reset, and account-related emails
- provide customer support and respond to privacy requests
- protect the app, prevent misuse, troubleshoot problems, and maintain service reliability
- comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
Paired Premium Access
Premium is purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system and remains associated with the purchaser's Apple ID. A paired user may receive temporary, server-verified access to certain Premium features while actively paired with a direct Premium user. Paired access is not subscription ownership and is not transferable Premium ownership.
Account Deletion and Subscriptions
You may request deletion of your Answer Together account from inside the app.
Once submitted, deletion requests are processed and account data is deleted unless retention is needed for security, legal compliance, subscription records, dispute resolution, or legitimate business purposes.
Deleting an Answer Together account does not cancel Premium. Premium subscriptions are managed by Apple through your Apple ID subscriptions. If you have an active Premium subscription and want to cancel it, you must manage or cancel it through your Apple ID subscription settings.
Apple and RevenueCat may retain purchase, subscription, entitlement, or transaction records according to their own systems, policies, and legal obligations. talkspark does not control all Apple or RevenueCat records.
Data Sharing and Service Providers
talkspark does not sell or rent personal information.
talkspark may share information with service providers only as needed to operate the app and provide the services described in this policy. These providers may include:
- Supabase, for authentication, database services, account data, and Answer Together backend data
- RevenueCat, for subscription entitlement management and subscription status synchronization
- Apple, for App Store purchases, payment processing, Apple ID subscriptions, subscription management, and related App Store services
- Expo push notification service, for Answer Together push notification delivery
- Resend, for authentication and account emails
- Hostinger, for talkspark website pages such as authentication callback and password reset routes, if applicable
talkspark may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights, safety, or security, or as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
Data Storage, Security, and Retention
talkspark uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or disclosure.
Different types of data may be retained for different periods depending on the feature, the user's account status, deletion requests, security needs, subscription records, dispute resolution, legal requirements, and legitimate business purposes. Where appropriate, talkspark may delete data when it is no longer needed.
Your Choices and Requests
You may:
- choose whether to create or use an Answer Together account
- edit your Answer Together display name in the app
- enable or disable Answer Together notifications
- request deletion of your Answer Together account from inside the app
- manage or cancel Premium through your Apple ID subscriptions
- contact talkspark to ask questions or make privacy requests

Children and Minimum Age
talkspark is not intended for children. You must meet the minimum age required in your country or region and any age rating shown for the app in the App Store.
International Processing
talkspark and its service providers may process information in different countries. These providers may include Supabase, RevenueCat, Apple, Expo, Resend, and Hostinger.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
talkspark may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by changing the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app or website after changes take effect indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
